| D n R Kennels is the only full-service pet boarding facility between Denver and Vail. We board all types of pets. Everything from dogs and cats, to fish, iguanas, mice, gerbils, guinea pigs, ferrets, pot bellied pigs, and birds. We also handle intact, in heat, hard-to-handle, and aggressive dogs. We have a one-acre fenced area in which we run the dogs at least twice a day - either in groups according to their age, size, and temperament, or alone, if needed. The normal sizes of our dog runs are 3 x 8 (3 feet by 8 feet) and 4 x 8 (4 feet by 8 feet), and we have larger runs for multi-dog families or larger dogs. D n R Kennels was built in 1989-90 and opened in March of 1990. It has been built, owned, and operated by the Roder family since. Renate Roder is the manager and has an Associates Degree in Kennel Management and is a certified groomer. D n R Kennels is situated on Highway 9 and Gold Hill Road in Summit County, Colorado. It is 5 miles from 1-70 on Highway 9 at mile marker 91. We are open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The only exceptions being July 4th, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day.
